Here are some pictures of the latest build... It's a design inspired by Jerry Garcia's Wolf Guitar.
The core is Jatoba, followed on each side by: 1/14" Walnut Burl, 5/32" Quilted Maple, 1/28" Walnut Burl , 3/32" American Cherry, 1/28" Walnut Burl, 3/8" Top of Quilted Maple, and 9/32" Back of Quilted Maple from the same board as the Top... Lot's of layers, should be interesting!
The neck on this one was constructed by Doug Darling of Soul Mate Guitars. The core is Birdseye Maple, followed on each side by Purple Heart and Flame Maple, with a fingerboard of Pao Ferro.
It'll have the full complement of Garcia inspired electronics including Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups, UGB, modified Stratoblaster, OBEL, 5 way pickup selection switch, and Series/Parrallel/Split Coil switches for each pickup... as well as the typical tone and volume controls.
All hardware is gold plated or brass, and includes a brass nut.
I should have it completed in the next couple of weeks...
Price will start at $2800, and ultimately depend on what type of inlay/artwork is used for the front cavity plate.
I'm happy to make furthur modifications, please contact me to discuss details.
